A Naive Crush

I had a huge crush on a girl in high school, for probably a year, possibly more. I can’t remember exactly, but it was easily the longest I’ve ever felt such a way about someone unrequitedly. I honestly thought I got over it back then, until I met her again about seven years later, and the feelings came rushing back.

This time around, I pursued her in a way I hadn’t in high school (though I did try then, I guess not hard enough, except I really didn’t have to try all that hard this time around, but I digress), managed to date her, and went on to learn she is quite possibly the single worst human being I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing personally.
