I Did Not Feel The Same Way

I had some guy -a close friend- become infatuated with me, but I was engaged at the time. He had himself convinced that if he did enough nice things for me, and was there enough when I “needed” him, I would see that he was the one for me and I would leave my fiance. After about a 6 month stretch, he actually realized that our personalities are polar opposites and we could never work as a couple on a normal day to day basis. Unfortunately, instead of moving on, he became obsessed with the idea of having me, and did his best to change us both into people who would work together. And then I got married. He was devastated. About a month ago he began to let go.
